Aboriginal art transcends linear time, weaving together the past, present, and future into a single continuous narrative. This exhibition reflects how Creation stories and artistic expression are timeless, embedded in an eternal cycle.
The Dreaming, or ‘Tjukurrpa’, also means to ‘see and understand the law’ as it is translated from the Arrernte language (Frank Gillen with Baldwin Spencer, translating an Arrernte word Altyerrenge). Born in 1960, Beryl Collins is an Anmatyerre speaker. Her traditional homeland is Ngarliyikirlangu and Yuelamu. Her finely detailed dot paintings represent her memories and heritage, particularly the Women, Emu and Honey Ant Dreamings.
