You can be part of an ongoing sculptural installation! Join us Saturday, October 22nd from 2-5pm to learn how to fold an origami vulva.
Artist Hanako O’Leary will teach guests how to fold an origami vulva from handmade shoji paper. Guests are invited to either take their finished piece home, or give it to Hanako to add to the ongoing installation of Bakoku [Mother’s Country], featured in the Bodies of Land exhibition. Bodies of Land is a dual exhibition featuring Ann Leda Shapiro and Hanako O’Leary, two artists known for bold feminist perspectives in their artwork. Drawing parallels between the body and landscape, this exhibition highlights how both ecosystems are impacted by society through explorations of feminine power, environmental exploitation, and global mythology.
